DECORATION

Lacquer with gilded panels, soundboard painted like on the Ioannes Couchet harpsichord, Antwerp 1646, today in the collection of the museum in Brussels. Stand in french walnut inspired by Louis XIV style.

CHARACTER

The harpsichord is based on the tradition of the famous Ruckers-instruments in 17.th century Antwerp. It has been taken ‚à petit ravalement’, to match french taste in disposition and decoration half a century later. It has got a focused sound, an elegant timbre, is well articulating and singing at the same time. It is perfectly regulated and carries well even in bigger halls.
